
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duy Hinh
Associate Professor Tran Duy Hinh is an experienced researcher, educator, and expert in the field of cinema. He graduated with a major in Film Directing from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (V.G.I.K.) in Moscow in 1981. With an excellent academic background, he has worked at major institutions such as the Vietnam Cinema School, the Army Film Studio, and the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, making significant contributions to the development of the film and television industry.
Associate Professor Tran Duy Hinh has led many scientific research projects at the Ministry and University levels, focusing on the following areas:
- Folklore and cinematic visual arts;
- History of Vietnamese television;
- Modern Vietnamese cinema and television;
- History of world cinema.
Some of his typical research works include:
- Characteristics of cinema: “Motion”;
- Characteristics of cinema: “Stillness”;
- History and time scanning;
- Cinematic images;
- Sound in cinema;
- Building images in Vietnamese scientific films;
- Creative methods of “Socialist realism” art;
- Some issues on the history of world cinema.
In addition, he has many articles published in reputable specialized journals such as the Journal of Stage and Cinema Arts and the Today’s Cinema Journal.
With a solid foundation of theory and practice, he provides multifaceted perspectives on the history, theory, and practice of cinema at home and abroad, helping students develop creative thinking and practical skills through advanced teaching methods.
