In a continuous effort to promote international cooperation and improve the quality of training, Thai Binh Duong University (TBD) welcomed and worked with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Vietnam on February 27, 2025.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the leaders of both sides. The AIT delegation included Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vang, Senior Advisor of AIT, former Director of the Department of International Cooperation – Ministry of Education and Training, former Rector of Hanoi University; Dr. Phung Van Dong, Director of AIT Vietnam; Ms. Dao Thanh Yen, Head of Southern Postgraduate Training, AIT Vietnam. On the side of Thai Binh Duong University, the delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Dao Van Dong – Rector; Dr. Van Huu Quang Nhat – Head of Science, Technology and International Cooperation Department.
Both sides focused on discussions and reached a consensus on several important areas of cooperation. A highlight among them is the Unified program, which allows students to shorten their study time and receive both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in just 5 years – one year earlier than the usual path.
Alongside the cooperative training program, TBD and AIT Vietnam are committed to enhancing research collaboration, aiming to jointly implement practical research projects that serve the development of Khanh Hoa province in particular and the South Central Coast region in general. The key research areas include digital transformation, artificial intelligence, energy, and ESG (environmental, social, and governance).
In addition to research collaboration, both parties have also agreed to promote academic and cultural exchanges through organizing short-term study and visit programs at AIT for students. TBD students will have the opportunity to experience a modern international learning environment, participate in specialized courses, and interact with students and lecturers from many countries around the world. This format not only helps students improve their professional knowledge but also develop soft skills, creative thinking, and the ability to integrate into a global environment.
Additionally, AIT Vietnam will provide advisory support to TBD lecturers regarding the Doctoral program under Project 89. The two sides will also collaborate to organize short-term training programs, updating knowledge and skills for officials and public employees of Khanh Hoa province, contributing to improving management and professional capacity and meeting the socio-economic development requirements of the locality.
The working session between Thai Binh Duong University and AIT Vietnam took place in an open and cooperative atmosphere. Through cooperation with AIT Vietnam, TBDU believes it will continue to improve the quality of training and scientific research and contribute positively to the development of the community.
