
Dr. Le Nguyen Hoang Giang
Dr. Le Nguyen Hoang Giang is not only an excellent researcher but also a dedicated educator. His career journey clearly demonstrates a harmonious combination of research and teaching, along with positive contributions to the community and the cause of education.
Dr. Le Nguyen Hoang Giang possesses an admirable academic background with a Doctorate in Educational Studies from Brock University and a Master of Education (Educational Leadership) from Thompson Rivers University. In addition, he holds a Master of TESOL from Victoria University (Melbourne) and many other degrees in education and English teaching. His diverse education is a testament to his eagerness to learn and continuously improve his knowledge.
His research focuses on social justice education, pedagogy, gender and sexuality in education, as well as the representation of the LGBTIQ+ community in society and education. His research career is demonstrated through 13 scientific articles in prestigious international journals and 8 book chapters. He also co-edited a book on “Gender and Sexuality in Contemporary Vietnamese Society” and co-created a book proposal on Art-Based Educational Research. He also participated in postdoctoral research on health care equity for transgender youth at the University of British Columbia.
Currently, he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Education & Social Work, Thompson Rivers University. He teaches postgraduate courses in education (GCES & M.Ed.) and has previously assisted in teaching undergraduate courses at Brock University. His diverse teaching experience ranges from university lecturer to high school teacher, from Canada to Vietnam.
Not only an educator and researcher, he also guides and co-authors many research papers, contributing to nurturing the young research generation for the future.
Dr. Le Nguyen Hoang Giang’s contributions to education and research have been recognized through many prestigious awards, including the Brock Spirit Medal, the Outstanding Graduate Student Award, the Jack M. Miller Award for Research Excellence, and the Teaching Assistant of the Year.
