On the afternoon of January 11th, Thai Binh Duong University, in collaboration with the University of Law (Hue University), organized an international workshop entitled “Ethics and the Rule of Law: Interdisciplinary Philosophical and Scientific Approaches” to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great philosopher Immanuel Kant.

The international conference brought together over 100 leading researchers, experts, and scholars from countries such as Germany, the United States, the Philippines, and Taiwan, along with graduate students and undergraduates from Thai Binh Duong University and other universities nationwide. The conference focused on discussing key topics: Immanuel Kant’s philosophy of ethics and law; ethical and legal challenges in the context of globalization and Industry 4.0; application of ethical and legal theories to state governance and legal science; and interdisciplinary issues in the study of ethics and law.


Notable presentations at the conference included: “The Life, Thought, and Contemporary Influence on Economics and Law of Immanuel Kant” by Prof. Dr. Tristan Nguyen (Fresenius University, Munich, Germany); “Kant’s Perspective on Perpetual Peace: Optimism and Pessimism in Great Power Politics – The Case of US-China Relations” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh (Senior Lecturer, Thai Binh Duong University, former Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister); “The Relationship Between Ethics and the Rule of Law: From History to the Present” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Ho Hai (Director of the Institute of State and Law, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics); “Some Philosophical Interpretations of the Concept of Justice” by Dr. Tran Tri Dung (Lecturer, Thai Binh Duong University, Vice Chairman of the International Arbitration Center BIAC); and “On the Foundations of Moral Philosophy and the Role of Morality in Building a Clean and Strong Ruling Party” by Dr. Nguyen Thai Binh (Senior Lecturer, Thai Binh Duong University, Deputy Head of the Mass Mobilization Front of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee).
The conference aims to foster a network of researchers, promote academic exchange and international cooperation, and contribute to a better understanding and application of ethical and legal theories in practice.
