On the morning of September 5, in harmony with the joyful atmosphere of students across the country celebrating the new school year, Thai Binh Duong University solemnly held the Opening Ceremony for the academic year 2025 – 2026. The event was not only the beginning of a new academic journey but also a moment of continuation – of trust, love, and high expectations.
Carrying the message “Moving forward, Reaching higher,” and in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Ministry of Education and Training, the ceremony honored the glorious journey of national education. It also reaffirmed a strong commitment: Thai Binh Duong University will always be a part of that journey – advancing together with the nation and conquering new horizons.

The meaning of “Moving forward” lies in inheriting tradition and the University’s pledge through its “5T” philosophy: Life-based learning, Comprehensive development, Meaningful interaction, Empowerment, and Empathy. This serves as the foundation for equipping students with the essential skills of the 21st century. Meanwhile, “Reaching higher” reflects faith and hope that transcend limits, aiming toward the future through the University’s strong fields of training – Information technology, Sustainable tourism, Artificial Intelligence, Languages – contributing to the development of both Khanh Hoa province and Vietnam.

The Opening Ceremony of the academic year 2025–2026 was honored with the attendance of distinguished guests. From local authorities:
- Ms. Le Vinh Lien Trang, Deputy Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Khanh Hoa Province;
- Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Diep, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Science and Technology; along with representatives from provincial departments, agencies, and organizations.
From Thai Binh Duong University:
- Dr. Nguyen Thanh Toai, Chairman of the University Council;
- Prof. Dr. Dao Van Dong, Standing Vice Chairman of the University Council;
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thanh Phong, People’s Teacher, President;
together with faculty members, staff, and representatives of freshmen and senior students.
In his speech, People’s Teacher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thanh Phong, President, delivered a message of innovation, growth, and aspiration. He encouraged lecturers to care for students as their own children – not only to teach “knowledge” but also morality and kindness, guiding them to become decent individuals. Quoting the great philosopher Socrates, who likened education to “kindling a flame,” he emphasized that the University will ignite passion for learning, foster self-study, perseverance, and resilience – helping each learner find their own path to happiness and success.
On behalf of the faculty, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Lecturer at the Faculty of Languages and Cultures, inspired students with four key words of advice: proactivity, adaptability, perseverance, and companionship.
Responding to this encouragement, Phan Tran Thien Sinh, a freshman majoring in Oriental Studies, representing the K17 cohort, expressed her honor, gratitude, and determination to study and grow in this new environment, promising to create a vibrant and memorable student life at Thai Binh Duong University.

Thien Sinh shared: “Stepping into the university lecture hall is a major milestone in every student’s life. Today’s Opening Ceremony marks the beginning of a new journey – one that will bring challenges but also countless opportunities. We carry with us joy, excitement, and determination to explore knowledge, build skills, and adapt to a new learning environment. We know the road ahead will not be easy. But with the support of dedicated faculty and advanced training programs, we believe we will be fully prepared to move forward with confidence.
Along with this joy, we are also aware of the great responsibility of being a university student – not only to study and conduct research but also to cultivate ethics, skills, and a responsible spirit toward ourselves, our families, and society. We promise to: study diligently and pursue our goals with perseverance; proactively develop soft skills and creative thinking to become global citizens; actively participate in student union and community activities; and uphold the image of Thai Binh Duong University students as dynamic, creative, disciplined, and responsible.”
A highlight of the ceremony was the “Passing of the tradition flag” ritual. The moment when seniors respectfully handed the flags to freshmen symbolized continuity, trust, and enthusiasm. It was also a reminder for new students to honor the foundation laid by previous generations and to stride toward the future with courage, wisdom, and independence.

Live Broadcast of the 80th Anniversary of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2025–2026
Continuing the program, the faculty and students of Thai Binh Duong University immersed themselves in the historic atmosphere by joining the live broadcast of the 80th Anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training) together with the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2025–2026 hosted by the Ministry of Education and Training.

This special program took place at the National Convention Center in Hanoi and was livestreamed to all educational and training institutions across the country, with the participation of approximately 1.6 million teachers and nearly 26 million students nationwide. For the first time, all educational institutions across Vietnam joined together to salute the national flag and sing the National Anthem simultaneously during the Opening Ceremony of the new academic year.

Delivering his directive speech at the Celebration and the Opening Ceremony of the 2025–2026 academic year, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary Tô Lâm extended his warmest greetings and best wishes to teachers, education administrators, and all students nationwide. He wished the education sector continued breakthroughs in development, worthy of the nation’s tradition of studiousness and aspiration to rise.
The General Secretary recalled the teachings of our ancestors: “Learning must go hand in hand with practice,” and “Talented people are the vitality of the nation.” He also cited President Ho Chi Minh’s historic message in his letter to students on the first school opening day in September 1945: “From this moment on, you begin to receive a completely Vietnamese education… an education of an independent nation, an education that will train you to become useful citizens for Vietnam, and one that will fully develop your innate abilities.” He affirmed that these teachings have been, are, and will continue to serve as the guiding goals and principles of Vietnam’s national education system.

The General Secretary affirmed that our Party has always regarded education and training as the nation’s foremost policy, a decisive driving force for the future of the country. Now more than ever, we must consider investment in education as an investment in the future, in sustainable and prosperous national development. He called upon the entire Party, the people, the armed forces; all levels, sectors, and localities; every family and each citizen – to join hands in nurturing the cause of education, for the future of our children, for the prosperity of the Fatherland, and for the happiness of the people.

With the solid foundations already laid, along with strategic vision and persistent efforts, the community of Thai Binh Duong University enters the academic year 2025 – 2026 with a spirit of strong innovation and an aspiration for deep international integration. We extend our best wishes to all lecturers, staff, and students for an inspiring and successful new academic year.
