The lecturers of the Chinese Language Department, Faculty of Language and Culture, at the university were entrusted with the important responsibility of interpreting for a series of key events connecting businesses from Khanh Hoa and China, which took place on December 10 and 11.

Within the context of the flourishing Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, particularly as we approach the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025, Khanh Hoa province has proactively promoted economic, trade, and tourism cooperation with Chinese partners. The 2024 Khanh Hoa – China Business Connection Conference is a practical activity aimed at realizing this objective.
The event attracted the participation of over 200 businesses from both countries, including nearly 100 Chinese enterprises representing diverse sectors such as finance, machinery manufacturing, infrastructure, tourism, environmental protection, legal consulting, and agricultural and seafood processing. Also present were Mr. Pham Thanh Binh – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh – Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu – Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Le Huu Hoang – Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Mr. Wei Huaxiang – Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City.

The conference focused on potential areas of cooperation such as tourism, agriculture, seafood, and import-export trade, contributing to promoting commerce, enhancing mutual understanding, and fostering friendship between the two sides. China is one of Khanh Hoa’s leading trade partners, with export turnover in the first nine months of 2024 reaching nearly 165 million USD, accounting for 10.4% of the province’s total export turnover. In the tourism sector, China is also Khanh Hoa’s second-largest international tourist market. It is expected that in 2024, Khanh Hoa will welcome more than 750,000 Chinese tourists, contributing significantly to the recovery and development of the tourism industry post-pandemic.
To ensure the success of the series of events, interpretation played a key role. With a team of highly qualified and experienced lecturers, the Chinese Language Department, Faculty of Languages and Cultures, Thai Binh Duong University was entrusted with this important responsibility.
