On the morning of September 5, Thai Binh Duong University solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2025-2026 academic year. At the ceremony, People’s Teacher, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hồ Thanh Phong, President, delivered a speech conveying a message of innovation, development, and reaching new heights. We are honored to present the full text of his address.
To all distinguished guests,
To all dear lecturers, staff, and students,
Today, in this solemn atmosphere, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to all of you on the occasion of the Opening Ceremony of the 2025-2026 academic year at Thai Binh Duong University. In my teaching career, this is the 14th time I have had the honor of speaking at a university opening ceremony. However, today is a very special occasion: I have only just assumed the responsibility of President of Thai Binh Duong University since September 4, 2025.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the leadership of Sovico Group for their trust in entrusting me with the responsibility of leading Thai Binh Duong University. I pledge to do my utmost, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the entire University team to realize the mission of building a modern university that develops in tandem with our nation.
I also want to thank the former President, Prof. Dr. Dao Van Dong, who laid a good foundation at Thai Binh Duong University and carefully prepared for this opening ceremony, giving me the opportunity to greet everyone on my very first day in office.
Dear lecturers,
Just yesterday, we promised to “Shape the future of Thai Binh Duong University, integrating with the nation’s breakthrough era.” Today, we begin to act together, working toward a progressive educational environment where knowledge is shared, creativity is sparked, and the spirit of solidarity is strengthened. My dear colleagues, with a united heart, we will lead Thai Binh Duong University to new heights, making it a leading center for higher education, worthy of the trust and expectations of society. I hope we will love our students as our own children; we will not only teach knowledge and skills but also humanity and morality.
Socrates, the ancient Greek philosopher, once said, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” Let us work together to inspire our students to strive, find their own paths to success and happiness.
