After an exciting journey of competition, the Grand Final of the 2nd UPO Chinese Speech Contest 2026, themed “Time-Travel Arena”, officially concluded with a series of dynamic debates, emotionally engaging performances, and creative displays that showcased the distinctive spirit of students at the University of the Pacific Ocean (UPO).
More than simply a language competition, “Time-Travel Arena” provided an academic platform for students to apply their Chinese language skills in practical settings while developing critical thinking, communication skills, and stage confidence. The contest also reflected UPO’s commitment to an educational approach that connects learning, practice, and real-world experience.
Breaking away from the conventional format of traditional presentations, this year’s contest featured a series of challenges that required contestants to think flexibly and demonstrate creativity throughout each round. In the Preliminary Round, participating teams showcased their creativity through Chinese-language video productions featuring a wide range of original ideas. Advancing to the Semifinals, contestants continued to impress as they took on distinctive roles—including cultural ambassadors, Shaolin martial artists, and imperial concubines—and presented their ideas while responding to on-stage situations.
The Grand Final truly transformed into a thrilling language arena, featuring team debate rounds and one-on-one face-offs. Quick responses, well-structured arguments, and confident delivery created an energetic and engaging atmosphere for the audience.
After three challenging and competitive rounds, the outstanding contestants of “Time-Travel Arena” 2026 were officially announced:
- Champion: Nguyễn Thị Đoan Trang
- First Runner-up: Nguyễn Thị Kiều Linh
- Second Runner-up: Hàng Gia Kiên

Congratulations to all contestants for their impressive performances and inspiring journey throughout this year’s competition. The experiences, skills, and memorable moments gained on the “Time-Travel Arena” stage will serve as valuable foundations as they continue to take on new challenges in their academic journeys and international integration.
We look forward to seeing you again at UPO’s upcoming academic competitions, where more exciting and engaging activities await.
