On March 28, the University of the Pacific Ocean (UPO) welcomed a delegation from the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, led by Ms. Alexandra Smith, British Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City and Director of Trade for the United Kingdom in Vietnam, for a visit and working session focused on educational cooperation.

During the meeting, People’s Teacher, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thanh Phong, President of the University of the Pacific Ocean, shared information about the University’s development journey, strategic vision, and achievements in education and scientific research. He also introduced UPO’s high-quality academic programs delivered 100% in English, currently a distinctive model in Khanh Hoa Province. The programs feature a network of more than 20 global university partners, incorporate project-based learning (PBL), and maintain strong connections with businesses and industry.

The University’s leadership also presented proposals for educational cooperation, focusing on the development of international joint training programs with prestigious universities in the United Kingdom in several of UPO’s key fields, including Information Technology, Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality, and Finance and Banking.

The proposed cooperation also includes short-term faculty and student exchange programs; co-organized international academic conferences; joint research publications; sharing of academic resources; and efforts to establish cooperation with the British Council, as well as integrate international professional certifications into UPO’s academic programs.

Ms. Alexandra Smith spoke positively about the achievements of the University of the Pacific Ocean and recognized the broad potential for cooperation between UPO and educational institutions, organizations, and businesses in the United Kingdom. She also expressed her commitment to serving as an active bridge to support UPO in establishing substantive relationships with UK partners in the future.
