On February 10, 2026, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between the University of the Pacific Ocean (UPO) and Hyatt Regency Nha Trang was successfully held. The event marked an important milestone as UPO became the first educational partner in the South Central Coast region of Vietnam to collaborate with this global hospitality brand.

The ceremony was attended by members of the University’s Board of Management, representatives from various faculties and departments, and the management team of Hyatt Regency Nha Trang. The partnership aims to promote high-quality human resource training while strengthening the close connection between academic education and the real-world business environment.

Comprehensive Cooperation in Training and Recruitment

According to the memorandum, both parties agreed to implement a range of practical activities designed to create maximum value for students:

  • Recruitment: Hyatt Regency Nha Trang commits to prioritizing the recruitment of UPO students for various positions, including temporary, part-time, and full-time roles. The university will provide a high-quality workforce capable of meeting the demanding standards of the international hospitality industry.
  • Training: Both sides will collaborate in organizing site visits and professional internship programs for students. In particular, hotel experts and managers will directly participate in teaching, sharing professional skills, and evaluating graduation theses, enabling UPO students to gain early exposure to five-star service standards.
  • Benefit Policies: The two parties also agreed to implement preferential policies, including service discounts and tuition incentives for staff members of both organizations, further strengthening their long-term partnership.

Hosting the International Conference ICLS 2026

A notable highlight of this long-term collaboration is the decision by UPO to select Hyatt Regency Nha Trang as the venue for the 20th International Conference on Logistics and Supply Chain Systems (ICLS 2026).

The conference is scheduled to take place in July 2026, bringing together more than 350 scholars and leading experts from around the world. This will be the first time a large-scale Asia–Pacific logistics conference is hosted in the South Central Coast region of Vietnam, affirming both the academic reputation of the University of the Pacific Ocean and the world-class event hosting capabilities of Hyatt Regency Nha Trang.
