Recently, students from the English Language program at University of the Pacific Ocean (UPO) had the opportunity to participate in a meaningful cultural exchange with a delegation of lecturers and students from Baiko Gakuin University (Japan). The event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, offering many engaging experiences and valuable opportunities for connection between students of the two institutions.

As part of the program, Vietnamese and Japanese students took part in various interactive and creative activities. One of the highlights was the Origami session—an iconic element of Japanese culture—where participants carefully folded paper to create lotus flowers under the guidance of the students. In addition, cultural quiz games about the two countries created a lively atmosphere filled with laughter, helping students gain a deeper understanding of each other’s traditions, customs, and daily life.

Another highlight of the program was the campus tour. English Language students from UPO confidently took on the role of “tour guides,” introducing and leading the Japanese delegation around the university’s learning and student spaces. This activity not only showcased the hospitality and friendliness of UPO students but also provided a practical opportunity to practice English communication in an international setting.
Such exchange activities demonstrate that international experiences can begin right within the learning environment. Through connections and cooperation with international partner universities, students are provided with valuable opportunities to build confidence, improve language proficiency, and develop essential global integration skills.

The event ended with meaningful memories between students from the two institutions. University of the Pacific Ocean (UPO) sincerely thanks the delegation from Baiko Gakuin University for their visit and for bringing a meaningful cultural exchange activity that contributes to enriching the international learning environment at UPO.
