On the morning of January 28, the University of the Pacific Ocean (UPO) successfully organized the program “Sky Career Talk” with the participation of Mr. Dinh Quoc Long – Deputy Director of Human Resources at Vietjet Air. The event provided students with practical information about career opportunities and recruitment processes at one of the region’s most dynamic airlines.

Addressing a question of great interest to many students: “How can you become one of more than 8,000 Vietjet Air employees worldwide?”, Mr. Dinh Quoc Long shared clear and specific insights into Vietjet’s human resource strategy, recruitment needs, and the key criteria the airline looks for in young candidates.

During the talkshow, UPO students were introduced to an overall picture of Vietjet Air’s diverse career ecosystem, with positions in fields such as aviation engineering, ground services, commercial operations, marketing, human resources, and other support functions. This demonstrates that career opportunities at Vietjet are not limited to aviation-related majors, but are also open to students from a wide range of academic backgrounds.
In addition, the Vietjet Air representative emphasized the company’s competitive compensation and benefits policies, dynamic working environment, and clear career development pathways, which enable employees to grow sustainably in their careers. Vietjet’s recruitment process is designed to be fair and transparent, focusing on a comprehensive assessment of candidates’ competencies, attitudes, and growth potential.

One of the most engaging parts of the session was the discussion on real-world interview strategies. According to Mr. Dinh Quoc Long, a progressive mindset, eagerness to learn, and confidence are key factors that help candidates make a strong impression on employers, alongside professional knowledge and skills.
Through the “Sky Career Talk” program, UPO students not only gained access to official recruitment information from the company, but also found greater motivation and clearer direction for their future career journeys.

The University of the Pacific Ocean sincerely thanks Mr. Dinh Quoc Long and Vietjet Air for accompanying the university and delivering a meaningful sharing session, contributing to connecting UPO students with businesses and promoting education aligned with the practical needs of the labor market.
