On the evening of July 24, 2026, the English Language Division of the Faculty of Languages and Culture at the University of the Pacific Ocean (UPO) held the Grand Final of the English Language Talent 2026 competition. The event provided a meaningful academic platform for students to develop their English proficiency through creative activities while strengthening teamwork, artistic thinking, and confidence in performing before an audience.
From the preliminary round, participating teams produced videos on the theme “The UPO Vibe,” sharing their perspectives on the learning environment and experiences at the University of the Pacific Ocean in English. The entries attracted more than 15,000 views and nearly 5,000 interactions on social media, helping showcase the dynamic, creative, and globally minded spirit of UPO students.
After competing through multiple rounds, the three strongest teams advanced to the Grand Final, featuring two challenges: The Voice Masters and The Shining Talent.
In The Voice Masters, the teams performed live English dubbing for selected film clips, demonstrating their pronunciation, intonation, language reflexes, and ability to coordinate seamlessly with one another.
The program continued with The Shining Talent, which brought an energetic atmosphere to the stage through singing, dancing, drama, and other artistic performances in English. Each team developed its own storytelling approach, combining creative ideas, content development, and distinctive performance styles to leave its mark on the stage.
At the end of the Grand Final, the Organizing Committee presented awards to the teams with the most outstanding performances:
- First Prize: Pretty Girls
- Second Prize: Wonderful Girls
- Third Prize: Triple Trouble
Beyond the awards, one of the most valuable outcomes of the competition was the opportunity for students to build confidence in communicating in English, strengthen presentation and teamwork skills, and develop their creativity through practical activities.
English Language Talent 2026 is one of many academic and extracurricular activities organized by the University of the Pacific Ocean to foster a dynamic learning environment, encourage students to discover their potential, develop essential soft skills, and strengthen their foreign language proficiency—important foundations for studying and working in an international environment.
