Recently, the University of the Pacific Ocean (UPO), in collaboration with Standard Chartered Vietnam, successfully organized the workshop “Blue Impact Day”, attracting nearly 200 participants, including experts, business leaders, lecturers, and students.

The event not only spread the message of environmental protection but also demonstrated the effectiveness of collaboration between the university and industry in developing high-quality human resources.

At the workshop, M.A. Nguyen Duc Minh Tan – Deputy Head of Conservation Division, Nha Trang Bay Management Board – presented specific data and insights on marine ecosystem conservation, providing participants with a clearer understanding of current conditions and the challenges in preserving natural resources. These practical perspectives helped raise awareness of the community’s role in sustainable development.

The open discussion session themed “From Fish to Startup”, featuring Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh and M.A. Nguyen Van Thanh – lecturer at the University of the Pacific Ocean – brought diverse perspectives. The speakers analyzed the balance between livelihoods and environmental protection, while also inspiring students to pursue entrepreneurship through real-world business stories.

A highlight of the program was the group activity, where participants were divided into 15 teams, each comprising managers from Standard Chartered Vietnam and UPO students. Within just 30 minutes of brainstorming on three real-world case studies, many creative and feasible ideas were proposed. At the end of the session, the judging panel selected three outstanding ideas and one audience favorite for recognition.

The program concluded with the “Green Commitment” fingerprint ceremony, symbolizing a shared dedication to environmental action and a sustainable future. This meaningful activity served as a powerful reminder of each individual’s responsibility in protecting the ecosystem.
