On the morning of February 3, the University of the Pacific Ocean (UPO) organized a seminar and academic discussion titled “The Science and Technology Development Strategy of Khanh Hoa Province for the 2025–2030 Period.” The event aimed to update participants on the province’s orientations for science and technology development in the coming years while strengthening connections between the university and state management agencies.

Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Diep, Deputy Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Science and Technology, along with the University’s Board of Management, leaders of various faculties and departments, and many lecturers from the University of the Pacific Ocean.
In his opening remarks, Meritorious Teacher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thanh Phong, President of the University of the Pacific Ocean, emphasized: “Today’s activity is one of the efforts of the University of the Pacific Ocean to promote scientific research and strengthen its community-oriented mission. Research outcomes should be practical products with real applications that benefit the community where the university is located.”

He also affirmed that if research topics align with the development needs of Khanh Hoa Province and match the university’s expertise, UPO is ready to mobilize additional resources and connect with scientists and experts to implement research projects effectively.
Continuing the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Diep presented an overview of the Science and Technology Development Strategy of Khanh Hoa Province for the 2025–2030 period. Her presentation highlighted key priority orientations, strategic sectors, and the important role that higher education institutions play within the province’s innovation ecosystem.

During the discussion session, representatives from various faculties of the University of the Pacific Ocean raised questions and shared perspectives on potential research directions that could align with the socio-economic development needs of Khanh Hoa Province. The discussion opened up promising opportunities for future collaboration between the university and the Department of Science and Technology.


The seminar provided a valuable opportunity for lecturers and staff members to update strategic information and better understand the province’s science and technology priorities. At the same time, it helped shape research directions that are closely connected to local realities, contributing to community service and sustainable development.
