On January 6, 2026, students from the Logistics and Supply Chain Management program at the University of the Pacific Ocean (UPO) had the opportunity to visit and gain practical insights into operations at Ana Marina Nha Trang – the first international marina in Vietnam. The visit took place in an open, professional, and highly experiential atmosphere, providing students with valuable hands-on knowledge closely related to maritime logistics and marine tourism.

As the logistics industry continues to expand into specialized sectors such as maritime services, tourism, and high-end services, exposure to real-world operational models plays a crucial role in academic training. The field trip was organized to help students gain a practical understanding of professional working environments and to better recognize the role of logistics within the operational and management chain of an international marina.
At the beginning of the program, students were introduced by representatives of Ana Marina Nha Trang to an overview of the marina, its operational model, the range of services provided, as well as procedures for yacht management and customer services. Students also listened to real-world insights into berth coordination, marina management, maritime safety, and the role of logistics in ensuring smooth and efficient marina operations.

During the Q&A session, students actively raised questions related to career opportunities, professional skill requirements, and challenges in logistics careers associated with marine tourism and maritime services. The candid and practical sharing from the enterprise representatives helped students better understand workforce demands and future career orientations in this field.
Continuing the program, students were guided to Pier B, where they directly observed the marina infrastructure, docked yachts, and on-site operational procedures. Ana Marina staff provided detailed explanations of yacht reception, berthing, maintenance processes, and inter-departmental coordination during marina operations. This on-site experience offered students vivid, real-life exposure, making classroom theories more concrete and easier to comprehend.

At the conclusion of the visit, representatives of Ana Marina Nha Trang expressed their hope that the activity would offer meaningful experiences and contribute positively to the academic journey and career orientation of University of the Pacific Ocean students. The field trip not only broadened career perspectives for Logistics and Supply Chain Management students but also reaffirmed the University’s commitment to practice-oriented education closely connected with real business environments.
